The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Trader Joe's
Interview
When I came in and asked for a paper application, the woman I talked to at the desk in the store asked me to "Describe Myself In One Word" This is Phase one of the interview, most people have the slightest clue. Based off of what you say there is a pass/fail pile just to filter out weirdos right off the bat. Then came the call for the Second Interview. It was a typical interview, reviewing my application and clarifying my availability and such. Initially I thought it was a really bland interview and didn't make the cut, until the end where my interviewer told me there was another step in the interviewing process... I came in about a week later and did a much more in depth interview with the "Captain" aka the head honcho.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
He asked if I have ever traveled? What I do with my free time (I think they look to hire those who are "interesting") And what my favorite 3 products in the store were.
Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
I had 3 separate interviews. 1 was over the phone. 2 were in person. I never heard anything after the third interview. I called the store about a week later and they let me know they didn’t actually have any available positions. Really felt like they wasted my time.
