Trader Joe's Mate interview questions

The interviews were pretty straight forward - until the end. Make sure you present yourself as a talkative and outgoing person, they love that. However, if you don't have a wealth of retail or supermarket experience already, forget it!! I had two rounds of face to face interviews that went well (I thought), then I had one final phone interview with someone from their HQ in California, and she was short, rude and dismissive. She basically verified how much retail experience I had or didn't have, then she wrapped up the interview. I got a turn down voice mail a few days later. Note - I was looking to transition from one career path to Trader Joe's because their culture was appealing to me. Apparently a positive attitude isn't enough because supermarket skills are not possible to train unless you already have a lot of retail experience :-P
