Brutal. Felt like I did so much work just to get a rejection email with no explanation after a month of interviews and prep. Round 1 was a call, straightforward and easy. Round 2 had 2 rounds, super technical. To do well you need to read the package they send you and probably do some more reasearch as well. For round 2 they had me present on current market news. It wasn't very detailed so I picked a piece of news I'd been hearing about recently, but during the presentation both sets of interviewers seemed confused as to why I picked this topic. Even though it was easily within the constraints of the presentation and I explained its implications. Still had a highly technical aspect. Seems like finance knowledge is more important that knowing supply chain which wasn't a great thing for me.

The first-round interview went well overall. It was a 30-minute call with HR and focused mainly on technical and industry-related questions rather than my CV. I was asked about how Trafigura makes money, the risks of transporting crude oil, and some logic-based questions. The interviewer was professional but kept the camera off, which made the conversation a bit less personal. I managed to answer most questions confidently and kept my answers structured and concise. Overall, it was a good experience and a valuable insight into Trafigura’s expectations.
