I don't usually leave reviews, but this one felt necessary. What started as a promising process ended as one of the most opaque I've encountered in my career. This process took nearly 4 months It started with an initial call with HR. Then a first video interview with a Senior UX Designer on the team. Then a second video interview with the Director of AI Products. Then an in-person interview at their Barcelona office, where I met with the Director of AI Products, the Senior UX Designer, and the Director of Product Design — three people. At that point I was told the process was essentially done and the next step would be a final brief meeting with someone more senior. That was it. Except it wasn't. Shortly after the 4 interviews, I received an extensive design challenge. To be clear: I actually enjoy design challenges. They're one of the few moments in a hiring process where you can show real skills rather than just talk about them in theory. My issue isn't the test itself — it's that nobody mentioned it until after I'd already been through four rounds of interviews. Candidates deserve to know what they're signing up for from day one, not discover new steps mid-process after already investing weeks of their time. I completed the challenge and submitted it on time. What followed was over a month of silence, broken only by vague responses promising an update "next week" — which never came. No real feedback. No decision. Nothing. This kind of behaviour is unethical, inconsiderate, and deeply unprofessional. And in my experience, how a company treats candidates during hiring says everything about how things work on the inside. Nothing but red flags. I've since moved on to a company that handled things very differently. But the people who come after me deserve to walk into this process with a clearer picture of what it actually involves.
