I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Transamerica in Oct 2014
Interview
Got an email from a hiring manager of Transamerica, and I went to their office. I thought I was supposed to attend a company overview, however, it was just the branch manager bragging about how delicate their products are. He just asked me several easy questions for 5 min, and spent almost 30 min to talk about the rule of 72. When I asked him if we as financial advisor have any leads, the branch manager said we have to build our own connections starting with my own friends and family. Then it started to sound like a pyramid scheme. Not worth spending the time.

Question 1
Mostly easy questions like where I was from and why I want to work for them.
Someone reached out to me on LinkedIn and we set up an interview with no application process. One of these commission-based, no-experience-required things. That guy and his mentor talked to me for an hour with a whole presentation, and it ended with an offer to become one of their clients if not an advisor.
Very calm, and easy. They just want to get to know you at first. It isn’t as much as an interview as it is a conversation to see if that want to take the next step

Question 1
Tell me about your background and why you chose to apply to Transamerica
Get an insight of the business, learn about the structure, and compensation potential. It may be for some people but I’m still deciding if it’s for me. It was very reminiscent to a mlm structure so that kind of made me second guess if it was something I wanted to do but it may be for someone.
