Waste of time. The initial interview was with the Chief of data and a recruiter. It was mostly a conversation based on my background and experience. It felt like the interviewer didn't know what a data engineer does and seemed unprepared with questions. I kind of got the sense that the role required to do a lot of ML stuff and front end even when it wasn't included in the job description. The interviewers questions were more like - tell me your experience relating the designing ETL pipelines and web development and ML models (This was asked in one sentence, lol). Ended up getting ghosted after multiple follow ups.
