I want to supplement details about my interview process. First, during the first department interview on 9/15, one of the interviewers in the first department found my project quite interesting and asked many questions about my resume—although I didn’t perform perfectly. When they introduced their department, they mentioned my resume matched their requirements, but I’m aware this could be my own positive interpretation. The second department didn’t explicitly comment on my performance, but one interviewer suddenly asked another if they could “poach” or “grab” candidates directly, which made me feel they liked my learning experiences and personal traits. After Monday’s interviews, I received news from HR two days later (9/17) that I passed the first interview. It seems the second interview was skipped, because earlier HR said there might be three rounds. The update said I advanced to the final interview stage for the first department, directly jumping to the HR stage. On Thursday (9/17), I finished the HR interview, mainly casual conversation about my resume and personal traits. During the process HR also mentioned I seemed to fit the supervisor’s position in the first department. HR told me they’re on leave next Monday, so the earliest they would call me back is Wednesday to Friday (9/24–9/26).
