Interview
One phone interview with HR, a phone call with a manager, an interview with two people, an interview with operations. Was told I would be receiving an offer a week ago. Now allegedly waiting for the hiring decision maker to get with HR. The lengthy involved process is very frustrating and makes me wonder if this career move will be worth the hassle.

Interview
Completely blindsided by a behavioral based panel interview. I get the "gotcha" effect of this approach but today's progressive companies respect their potential future employees by conveying this information up front enabling the employee to more effectively prepare and communicate the relevant information. The cost of what the company gleans from a gotcha is far outweighed by the benefit of an un-distracted and un-irritated candidate that can focus on delivering thoughtful answers free from the understandable but completely unnecessary pressure. Further, the questions asked were the 6-part variety like those asked by the media of the President during high profile press conferences. Yes, they were that disproportionate to the position in question. So, to demonstrate how irrational, out-of-touch and odd these questions were, I repeated their questions back to them and one blushed, stuttered and required another panelist to save her. They could not have been less prepared and most went unanswered. How can they ask such critical and multi-layered questions that so much depends on, but that they are unable to answer themselves? Because it's a farce. It was not a conversation it was an interrogation - and a great way to rule out a company. I knew from the moment of blindside, this was not the company for me.
