I applied for a UX architect position at Trinetix and the overall experience was quite intensive. The process began with two initial rounds of interviews, which were fairly standard and conversational. We introduced ourselves, discussed the job specifics, and I shared my past experiences. Following that, I was given a substantial test task. This wasn't just a small exercise but required me to craft an entire digital solution for the made-up client. The scope included creating information architecture, wireframes, and user flow. In addition to these deliverables, I had to design a presentation outlining my solution. The most demanding part came when I had to defend my approach. This session lasted for around two hours. While I anticipated constructive feedback, some of the questions, like where I would place the search bar in the wireframes, seemed nitpicky and not aligned with the broader strategic scope of the position I was applying for. Overall, while I understand the importance of a thorough vetting process, the depth and intensity of the test task felt disproportionate, and the defense session was energy-draining.
