I applied online. I interviewed at Triple Zero Victoria (Melbourne)
Interview
Unporofessional to say the least the interviewer turned up 16 yes 16 minutes late. As I waited in reception the receptionist and her co worker where discussing an personal email from a boy fiend - what can I say the discussion was not family friendly

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Triple Zero Victoria (Melbourne)
Interview
I had been warned about these guys by a couple of different people - politics and game playing at the highest levels apparently in ESTA.
The job description was totally over egged. They wanted a fixed term PM on the cheap to manage what looked like a relatively simple implementation that should probably have taken no more than 3 or 4 months but they reckoned it would take 12 months - they already had a PM and couldnt really explain why they needed a second....... When I worked out what they were attempting to do, my jaw dropped and that probably showed. The technology they are employing sounds really backward - they were trying to upgrade to include emergency services functionality that has been around and in operation for years elsewhere.
This is a very heavily radio and call despatcher based environment but the interviewers didnt seem to know about the radio system at all which i thought was really odd given that its their bread and butter transport layer - I actually knew more about what they were doing than they seemed to which was odd and probably alarmed them a little bit.
They kept asking about what experience I had with the trade unions - so that was a reasonable indicator of how politically charged and potentially problematic the role could have been.
Interview was 3 on 1, one had been drafted in a the last minute since the senior person who was meant to be interviewing was sick, another was along for the experience and asked/said nothing. The guy who led seemed nice enough but I couldn't really understand where he fitted in and tbh I'm not sure he could either - looked uncomfortable most of the way through.
All in all it was interesting but a time waster. Oh yeah, the other thing; they seemed to have an argument before the interview commenced with some people who were using the same meeting room - exchanging of words.....looked stressful from where I was stood in reception.
