      Content Strategist Interview

      Jun 8, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Tulip Interfaces in Mar 2021

      Interview

Started with a typical phone screening, then a video interview with the person who would be my manager. I was then asked to carry out a substantial piece of work ahead of the next interview phase, which consisted of researching and writing a 500 word blog post, performing keyword research, putting together a presentation, and signing an NDA. I was expected to do this work for free, of course. Then I had to present my assignment to four people in the marketing team, before being interviewed by each person in 30-min slots, back to back. The following day I received a call saying that that I would not be put forward as a candidate. When I asked for feedback, I was told I didn't have enough experience in large organisations and would therefore not be a good fit for Tulip's "chaotic work environment". In other words, they could have simply read my resume more closely before asking me to do a ton of work for free while providing no useful feedback. By far the worst and most demoralizing interview process I have been through.
