My initial interview was with a member of the technical writing team. The person I interviewed with was kind, courteous, and helpful. They indicated that I was interviewing with them because their HR team did not have the resources to conduct all necessary interviews, but that I would hear from them in a few weeks about setting up a second interview. About six weeks later, I was passed between two different HR reps to set up the group interview and indicated that there would also be a writing test. Around the same time, an HR rep sent me an email congratulating me on my new role with Turnitin (by mistake, of course). The writing test was sent to me late in the day two days prior to my interview along with the request that I complete and return the test no later than 48 hours before my interview. I requested clarification, as I was given the test less than 48 hours before my interview. An HR rep responded saying that it should only take two hours and that there was still time. During my group interview, the team was kind, professional, and courteous. They indicated that it would likely be a couple of weeks before I heard anything from them. Shortly thereafter, an HR rep contacted me asking if I was still interested in the position and if I had any additional questions. I sent along my questions and never heard back from them. I followed up again a week or so later, but did not hear back. A couple of weeks later, I sent my final inquiry and received a response that they would be passing on my candidacy. The email noted that they would be happy to provide the teams feedback. I said that I would appreciate the opportunity to review this feedback. Two weeks have gone by, and the HR rep never sent the said feedback. Overall, the technical writing team was kind and professional. The HR team comes across as unprofessional. I was not offered a position, but would also not have accepted one if offered as I developed a lack of confidence in their corporate functionality.
