      Manager Interview

      Sep 16, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Twilio

      Interview

Very unprofessional recruiter. Applied online. Got the email for the call from the recruiter. Confirmed the date and time for the call. 5 mins before the call, the recruiter sends an email saying something wrong with the position so will not call and will get back after clarifying. No response at all. So, forgot about it. After a couple of weeks , out of the blue, recruiter sends an email saying will not move forward with the application as the position has been filled. This level of unprofessional people tells about the company.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio in Jun 2024

      Interview

Interview process was lengthy. Beginning with a phone screen (30m) with the recruiter then a conversation with the hiring manager (30m). Then I interviewed with two peer managers from the team and a product manager (45m each). Finally a last interview with the hiring manager (45m). After that there was a final 15 minute call with the recruiter. I received a call the next week that they had selected a different candidate. While lengthy the process was as efficient as possible and all involved were professional. The culture seems really good and I'm sad I was not selected. The interviewers were asking good behavioral questions and were looking for answers to be in STAR format.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (New York, NY)

      Interview

The hiring process is unnecessary long - Phone call with HR - zoom call with hiring - back to back with multiple team members - bar raiser with someone from company - zoom call with head of department I had an interview with hr and felt it was very rushed but decided to continue. Interview with hiring manager raised various flags: - They were extremely understaffed due to folks leaving. They have 5 reqs open in the team. - When asked about relationship building for team, manager spoke about one on ones but didn’t provide examples of how she built relationship for the team. - When asked about why she joined the firm, it was due to a former colleague being there and the good benefits She didn’t sound excited about the company or team at all.
