I was referred by an engineer who I previously managed on a video software team. Short phone call with recruiter who asked questions mainly around management experience.
After the phone call with the recruiter, a call with the head of engineering was arranged for a couple weeks later. That person purely focused asked about hiring and firing. No technical questions. No video questions. At end of call said, "I have a different role in mind for you that I can't talk about it yet. Thanks for the call."
Was very disappointed that no questions about developing video software or running a software team from a technical point of view were asked. Seems like the head of engineering had decided ahead of time that he wasn't interviewing me for the position which I was referred to.
Overall the recruiters were organized and helpful, but the managers doing the interviews seemed like typical Silicon Valley upper management. All politics.
