I applied online and within a week set up a phone call with the hiring manager for the role. I didn't think I would pass because I don't have experience as a Twitch streamer, and I got the sense that they're looking for someone who is a content creator/knows the product from that side of things. A few days later, I hear back that I've passed the phone interview with the hiring manager, and I'm moving onto the final/onsite. Exactly two weeks from my phone call with the hiring manager, I had my video onsite with 3 members of the team and the hiring manager for around 3 hours. It went great, and I vibed well with the team.
The initial part of the process was quick- within 2 weeks I had gone through the whole interview process. This left a good impression on me, as I know how long other tech companies take. They also told me that they'd get back to me with a decision within 5-7 business days.
However, after my final interview, I heard nothing from Twitch. Complete silence from their end for 3 weeks. I had followed up twice with the recruiter via email at this point, and still heard nothing. Not even a "the team is still interviewing" so I had no idea what was going on on their end, or if I was even still in the running for the position.
Finally, after almost a month, I got a phone call from my recruiter telling me that the team loved me BUT the role is not the right fit. She also told me that they would open up more roles on the team in a couple of weeks that might be a better fit for me, and that they'll let me know right away when they open up. Not sure I believe the timeline they've given me now though.
