      Interview

As someone that has interviewed at many companies, this was by far one of the top experiences. Twitch moves fast, has a high bar, and puts people first - both shown in their product, but also their hiring process. I had previously had a phone screen with a recruiter, whom told me that the role wasn't quite the right fit at the time for me - but to keep my eyes open for other opportunities. I did just that, and a few weeks later, came across this role. I applied via referral, then was told that there were a ton of candidates in the pipeline already, but to follow up the next week. I followed up the next Friday, and started the interview process that next Monday. Please note I'm not in the SF area, so this was done remote and here's the process I went through: Monday - 30 min phone screen with the recruiter; are you a fit for the company? Type of questions Tuesday - 30 min phone call with the hiring manager; are you a good fit for the team? Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - Video call with 5 people (including the hiring manager). Before these interviews, my recruiter sent me a "Twitch Interview Prep" sheet which went over what Amazon would call their "leadership principles". Both the recruiter and interviewer were super transparent in which specific one they were looking for. At the last stage, I got an email from recruiter #1 (who told me the role wasn't a good fit) - wishing me the best of luck at that they would ping my current recruiter with good words. This was very flattering, and it showed that the recruiters really mean it when they say "keep an eye out for future roles." During the video interviews, we had a few hiccups - connectivity issues mostly. Everyone was still super adaptive and communicative during the process, while still valuing my time. The last step was to meet with a Twitch recruiter in-person (I live in a city where there is a Twitch office), which was more of a gut-check. Overall, really fun, challenging, but rewarding! Tips I would have for future interviewees would be to have an understanding of the product, practice their storytelling skills, and be an open book during the process.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Twitch (London, England) in Jan 2022

      Interview

The interview process was fairly long and consisted of an online application, an online assessment, a video interview with hiring manager, and then another video interview with someone who opened the conversation with 'after this call we'll never see each other again'. Had a sense of self importance about them and just seemed to want to try and trip you up at every opportunity

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Twitch (London, England) in Aug 2020

      Interview

Applied through their career website and after a week got contacted by a recruiter by email. Set a phone interview with him and at the end of the phone interview he already told me he wanted me to meet the Hiring Manager. Set a time with the hiring manager through Google Meet (he was in NY) and had a nice chat with him. 2 days later I was told I was no longer on the run. After all it was a good interview process. Both HR Recruiter and Hiring Manager where super nice, always kept me knowing which where the next steps. Unluckily for me I wasn't selected but maybe next time.
