Interview
Twitch reached out to me to learn more about my experience. I was immediately connected with the potential hiring manager on a 1-hour call. The hiring manager had no finesse in conducting a design interview. It was shoddy, showed no excitement and her tone came across as "I guess I'll talk to yet another candidate" as opposed "I want this potential person on my team" Her demeanor, voice and lack of enthusiasm in the conversation showed pretty clearly. We went over my experience and I could tell immediately that I wasn't the person she was looking for. Overall, the experience was ok. Just have more enthusiastic hiring managers/leads to moderate the call.

Tell me how you collaborate within a team?

online application , followed by online tests and questionnaires. Then another round of online tests. Followed by video interview, then an interview and finally an assessment centre complete with a mix of activities
It’s a straightforward process: you speak with the recruiter, hiring manager, and then have the onsite with the team. The recruiters were very quick to respond and I had a pleasant experience with them.
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the actual design team. They were cold and unwelcoming, and most of the onsite felt forced, awkward, and, quite honestly, uncomfortable. There were moments throughout the day where the team and hiring manager would act unprofessionally and disrespectfully, and speaking to some of the teammates was truly like pulling teeth. I don’t consider myself at all to be an unpleasant or difficult person to talk to, so this was an anomaly for me - a testament to the questionable culture growing inside this company.
I’d sincerely recommend Twitch to invest in employee behavioral training, and for future applicants to reconsider if Twitch is the right stepping stone in their career.
