Interview
I was initially a little put off by the communication with the person setting up the interviews. She used the wrong name in emails to me and it sounded like she was eating while leaving a voicemail. Despite this type of introduction, the job itself sounded interesting so I proceeded. The interview process was very standard. First I interviewed with the office manager and paralegal manager. The following week I interviewed with the attorney who I would be working for (she was great and I was looking forward to potentially working with her). I think the environment might be better suited for younger professionals with less experience, although they wanted someone with a minimum of 5 years. At the end of the day, I would have had to work OT and reach the billable bonus every six months (135 hrs/month) just to get paid the what I do now, plus my vacation time would have been cut almost in half. I didn't want to go backward at this point in my life so I had to pass.

Interview
I met with a partner running a particular litigation team. She was nice and polite. But I have been a paralegal longer than she was an attorney, and she really lacked the skills and experience to assess my resume. This firm really does not have a CLUE about hiring qualified staff - I can easily tell. I submitted my resume to HR a year ago, then 5 months ago again, with absolutely no response. Then, I send my resume to an agency in UTAH who turns around and gets me an interview. I worked in solid litigation defense law firms before but for some reason I was not called back for a second. I was articulate, overtly generous and amicable and got along really well with interviewor. Perhaps they thought I wouldn't last longer than 6 mos. It appears based on appearance from what I saw, they employ scrubs.
