There are usually two to three rounds. You meet with the staff director, chief of staff or equivalent and then the member. Found it really quick if they want to hire you. By the time you get to member level, folks want to know you’re a yes. Worst case is when they don’t do the check in advance and the member calls you and you have to tell them no yourself. Happened to me once and it was crazy awkward. Love the work though - nothing like it.
