Very basic asked more about my previous masters research and education. Simultaneously the interviewer explained the research area and focus of UNC. Underwent two interview calls and within one month or so got the admission for Phd.

Less than 30min via zoom and the vibe is relax. I answered these questions quickly because they were all about issues that I had to deal with. All in all, the atmosphere of the meeting was pleasant and the interview was over quickly.

Interviewed with professor once before being offered the position. Be prepared with how your background is relevant to the professors previous and existing projects. I would recommend reaching out to these professors the semester prior.

Very friendly. PI normally would first introduce the lab and project background and then may ask some technical questions related to the position you applied. Sometimes, if they choose you, they will let know immediately.
