Attended a hiring conference in DC. There were hundreds of candidates selected to interview, which should've been a huge warning sign right off the bat. Sat in a room for hours waiting to to be called to interview. Interviewed with two gentleman in a noisy conference hall, where other DIA teams were interviewing candidates for other roles. The interview itself was easy and lasted only 15 minutes. After waiting for several more hours I was called to speak with an HR rep, who gave me a COE on the spot. It was a take it or leave it deal. The offer was non-negotiable. Of course, after wasting an entire day I accepted.
This entire process has been a huge waste of my time, not to mention government and taxpayer money! The whole ruse, "we're the only agency who will provide you an offer the same day" is the ONLY way they get people to interview.
What a horrible experience. Terrible communication keeping you informed of where you're at in the on-boarding process. It's been almost a year since I applied and still no job. Fraud, waste and abuse at it's worst!!!
