I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Indianapolis, IN) in Oct 2014
Interview
You weren't asked a lot of questions I think I was just asked if I had any time conflicts and if I had a preference of time and place. When you first walk in you are supposed to file out paper work and get finger printed if you get the job. Make sure you bring in your id, birth certificate, and all required documents this is very important you want your start date to be immediate.
