Application
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service in Mar 2015
Interview
I applied online and immediately took the personality test after. I was then invited to take the 473 exam which I scheduled 4 days later. I had no idea really what it was about but I still passed with a 81 score. The hardest part was the memorization section. I was emailed that I passed by the time I walked out of the testing office.
Exactly a week later I was invited to the interview and then given the background check papers and info on how to schedule my drug test. You have 3 days to complete both.
At the interview there were about 50 people there. They explained the position, had us watch safety videos and then a postmaster explained the CCA position even more. They did not sugarcoat it. Expect to work possibly 7 days a week, possibly 10 hours a day. You will be on probation 90 days and won't get benefits until after working 360 days. No guarantee you'll be hired in a career position what they call "regulars." They then called everyone individually by test score to meet with a postmaster.
The post master I met with asked me basic questions about my past employment and school. Asked if I was comfortable walking around 5-10 miles a day. If I could lift 75lbs. How I felt about dogs. He told me a little more on the position and what to expect. Again no sugarcoating. He said it is very physical and you will be micro managed. He recommended me and took me back to the HR rep, who then gave me a condition job offer with a date a week later for the medical assessment.
Overall the interview was very easy.
A week later I went to the medical assessment. Only about 20 candidates from the prior interview were there. It was an form to be billed out. They took everyone's fingerprints. Then we met with a HR rep individually to make sure everything on our applications and the paperwork we filled out was correct and accurate. We were then told we would get a call when orientation starts and the location we would be assigned to.
Two weeks later I got a call with my orientation date. It is a week from now and I got the location I picked for my #1 choice.
I interviewed at US Postal Service (Gettysburg, PA)
Interview
No inter view all online. The application very easy to complete and instant job offer. Easiest job I have ever applied to. Going through the background check process currently now
Easy I just sat down with the post master and we talked for 20 minutes. Not many questions where asked besides why I wanted to work for the post office.
