      Interaction Designer Interview

      Oct 20, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Antonio, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Series of interviews that began over the phone and progressed to a half-day on-site interview. It also included a design challenge. It also included a facility tour, and lunch at their cafeteria. It was a bit strange in that the attendees of the lunch were mostly not involved in the rest of the process. Thing strategically when ordering the food, because they ask almost nonstop questions. Makes it tough to eat with grace, while answering questions. Since you'll be there for hours after, be sure you eat enough for energy! Something strange that happened was that I found out when I did not get an offer that I'd been put in for a totally different role than the one I thought I was interviewing for. Quite strange, and frustrating to think I spent so many hours. I guess it worked out I did not get an offer, because it would have been awkward figuring out what the real job would be! HR also seemed unorganized at times.
