Grueling 3 hour interview with 12 people, 15 min each, with no prior information about the interviewers or introductions as we were shuffled to the new person. Some slated interviewers didn't show, and some tried to "trap" candidates by not introducing themselves nor their roles at the beginning of the interview. Most interviewers were genuine but being interviewed by that large of a committee conveyed that the department did not have a good grasp on what they were looking for in a candidate. Personally I felt most interactions were very positive but that the ones that didn't go well had an outsized negative influence on the process. I'd much rather have had a longer interview with the primary work team than a committee gauntlet with people removed from supervision. There were no second interviews and we could hear the other candidates' responses as we waited while we were interviewed in a public area.
