I applied on Uber's website and was contacted by the recruiter for an introductory call. The recruiter was kind and enthusiastic. We discussed my qualifications and skills and discussed both the basic qualifications they requested and the preferred qualifications.
Went through to the next round for an interview with the hiring manager. The interview was stiff, the format of the interview as Question-Answer-Question-Answer, not really a conversation.
A week later I had a meeting with the recruiter that told me that I didn't go through to the next round because I didn't have the preferred qualifications, which they were already aware of.
