I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ubisoft (Montreal, QC) in Nov 2019
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn and I shared my interest in a position. After a quick chat over phone I received an online survey link with questions about software development (C++, C#, Optimizations, Caching, Hardware in General, Software, etc.) A few days later I received an invitation to an onsite interview with 2 different teams. Both teams outlined their technical challenges and especially the first project and team was a great match. I received another invitation to the next onsite interview with more and deeper technical questions. I had a very good feeling and enjoyed the overall experience a lot - until this stage. HR called me two days later, and told me the team would like to make me an offer but the team received a hiring stop for 6 month. They referred me to another team and they were interested. Unfortunately I would have needed to go through a similar interview process again to ensure the new team is a good match as well. The role didn't sound interesting to me so I declined it. To say it bluntly, Ubisoft wasted more than three days of my time - and of their own employees time. Very disappointing experience!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ubisoft (Paris) in May 2025
Interview
The interview went straight forward as informal discussion between engineers in the same team. Problem was given and solution was conducted together with discussion about tradeoff. The interviewer didn't stress the candidate about time and let enough time at the end to discuss some challenge in the team.
