I applied online. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Stockholm, Stockholm)
Interview
I was asked to participate in an Assessment Center at the Stockholm Office in January 2019. I filled in a Doodle, picked out a convenient time . By doing so I could count on the number of the other candidates. I knew from Glassdoor that we will need to work on a case study together which is about an under performing store. We had 15/20 mins to read the case and to offer solutions to the problems. The time was obviously little.
The HR person and the ex-store manager were standing close to us, listening the discussion and taking notes. They were strict about the time so we started presenting our ideas. We worked as one team. At the end we were asked what is the core problem of the store to which we could not give a common answer to. They said it is important to be able to see the big picture. After solving the case we had 10 mins to collect the responsibilities and tasks of a store manager and later they showed us some promo videos about the company. It is wort to get prepared in advance, read about retail, Uniqlo, the tasks of a store manager and other study cases about under performing stores. I did almost all of it, so I was not surprised. Although I really think they are looking for candidates who are born to be in this role. They will only employ the matching applicants. If this means they need to wait or conduct a lot of assessment center they will do it.- at least this is what they said. I think they are looking for someone who can handle stress at a high level, customer-focused and quick-witted. It was a good importunity to grow so I am happy I went trough it. Good luck! :)
It went pretty smoothly and was enjoyable. If given the chance I would apply for the program again next time. Recommend people to give it a try to gain more experience.
