As far as I know, their internet post on their site is perpetually looking for 25 new employees; I applied there and got an email within three days telling me to come in for an interview at the flagship on 5th.
After reaching the break room and sitting there for a little while, a person I would learn to be the HR Lead Recruiter led all of us to the bunker underneath the stores for that city block. There, we were made to fill out a paper application; they called on you for the interview in the order of applications handed in.
The group was interviewed by at least three different members of UNIQLO HR; the most to an interviewer I remember was three, and none of the interviewers seemed to ask the same questions, from what I heard. I don't remember if there were cuts made at this point.
After everyone was interviewed for the first time, a second round of interviews began. At this point, I only distinctly remember two interviewers still conducting interviews; you were called to either one, and again, they seemed to ask different questions. Names were definitely called to leave at this point, which would be followed by, "...you're done with the application process at this point, we'll notify you of the results by Monday.".
My name was called up too, and I hoped against my anxiety that I'd failed; I had a friend who got the job, and he told me that they tell you on the spot after the interview that you got it - that was a year ago, and the only way I got the job was if they changed their hiring process.
The email did come on Monday; they didn't change their hiring process. Fired off a thank-you letter in response, and haven't heard from them since.
At this point, I think it's still very unfair of them to give people that hope when there obviously isn't any. I was really looking forward to working here.
