I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uniqlo (New York, NY)
Interview
An application was filled and handed in-store. Within the week, a phone call was received for an interview. There was me and another applicant there for the interview. An HR rep was in charge of the process. After some very basic questions like our job experiences and what we know about the company, another interview was set in place. This time, there was about 6 people in the group. The General Manager came along with the same HR rep to take part of the interview process. The questions were more specific this time that were more customer service related. Afterwards, they said,"We'll be in touch."
After a few days, I received a call with the job offer. So the next day I went in to sign the job offer. $10/ hr. No negotiations. Normal New York retail salary. I took it since my previous jobs did not pay this much. After all the backgrounds checks and etc, orientation began.
I paused for 30 seconds of eternity while asked a question during EACH of the interviews. I STILL got the job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Don't remember too much of it. But they were action-reactions customer service questions. Emphasis on being well-rounded.
I got a phone call from the Talent Acquisition staff. Asked basic question about the company and availability. After the phone screening, I got a one on one interview with Store Manager.
Group interview taking turns answering given questions. Group number is 3 and you will talk to the manager and assistant manager. First you fill out a form giving available days and what hours you wish to work.
The interview took place in a hotel conference room with many other candidates. Asked us 2 super simple questions and to work in teams. Afterwards, some candidates got an interview with the HR department. They were asking each one of us the same question ( there are 2 more people with me). Overall, it wasn't the worst interview; they do not take their time to actually get to know you as a person and do not want to give you an opportunity to work part-time, because you might decide to leave to pursue your career in a year or two which I don't think is fair.
