I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Melbourne) in Nov 2013
Interview
Sent in my resumé to the Australian Recruitment Team. Around two/three weeks later I was given an email saying I could progress to the next stage - group interview and individual interview.
On the interview day, it was separated in three parts - information session, group activity and individual interviews.
Information:
- had to watch a few videos and presentations about Fast Retailing Group and Uniqlo as a company and a place to work at
Group Activity:
- separated into 6 groups. Each group consisted of around seven people.
- watched a video and was told to take notes on what the Uniqlo employees were doing, why they were doing it
- After video, had to work as a group to make a presentation - present what the employees were doing and why
Individual Interview:
- why I wanted to work at Uniqlo
- my future intentions
- how I coped with cultural differences in another country
- what customer service is to me
- impressions of Uniqlo
I didn't have any retail experience or relevant work experience prior to applying, so I found this to be a difficult but rewarding experience.

Some stores have an assessment centre as part of the application process but I have not sat one.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2026
Interview
The interview process consisted of a group interview with four candidates present. There were two staff members conducting the session, including a manager.
The session began with a short introduction round where each candidate presented themselves. We were then given group tasks and situational exercises. These involved discussing different scenarios and explaining how we would handle them in a retail environment. The focus seemed to be on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Overall, the interview was interactive and centered around collaboration and how candidates approach customer service situations.
