I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uniqlo (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
I found their posting on Craigslist for several of the new stores in the bay area. I followed their link and filled out the application. A couple of weeks later I was email with a group interview offer. I was offered several dates and asked to choose one and reply, which I did. I showed up to the interview and was taken to a back room with several other candidates. The hiring manager introduced herself and gave a brief history of her work at Uniqlo as well as the company itself. Next we were asked to briefly introduce ourselves. After the introductions we were asked all the basic interview questions and availability. After the interview we were thanked for our time and told we would hear back from them soon. A few weeks later I was again emailed with a sales position offer dependent on upon a completed and approved background check. I was asked to authorize the background check. This process took about a week, I was then again emailed with the information about orientation. Pretty simple process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell us about a time you received great costumer service, and what made it so special.
I got a phone call from the Talent Acquisition staff. Asked basic question about the company and availability. After the phone screening, I got a one on one interview with Store Manager.
Group interview taking turns answering given questions. Group number is 3 and you will talk to the manager and assistant manager. First you fill out a form giving available days and what hours you wish to work.
The interview took place in a hotel conference room with many other candidates. Asked us 2 super simple questions and to work in teams. Afterwards, some candidates got an interview with the HR department. They were asking each one of us the same question ( there are 2 more people with me). Overall, it wasn't the worst interview; they do not take their time to actually get to know you as a person and do not want to give you an opportunity to work part-time, because you might decide to leave to pursue your career in a year or two which I don't think is fair.
