I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Kingston) in Jul 2025
Interview
Should have been a bad sign when only 3 people showed up to a group interview that was meant to have 13 people. Got a call only the day before to go to an interview. The manager didn’t even have our CVs. They also didn’t ask any good questions so they obviously couldn’t get to know us in any sort of way. I also applied for a full time position but at the interview they said it was weekends only. I’m assuming they already had people hired for the position so they decided to waste my time instead of just closing the job listing. Overall was very disorganised and the managers gave the impression that they didn’t really care about hiring more people.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you do if a customer came into the store and was angry? (Very poorly phrased even when asked for clarification on what the customer is specifically angry about)
After the initial application, there was one telephone interview followed by one in-person interview.
The telephone interview tested my motivation for joining the company and what I love about the brand. The final interview focussed more on experience and what skills would make me suitable for the role.
Some stores have an assessment centre as part of the application process but I have not sat one.
Group interview where they go through a bunch of scenarios and some of them you have to get up and present in front of everyone, its maybe like 30-50 people in each group.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2026
Interview
The interview process consisted of a group interview with four candidates present. There were two staff members conducting the session, including a manager.
The session began with a short introduction round where each candidate presented themselves. We were then given group tasks and situational exercises. These involved discussing different scenarios and explaining how we would handle them in a retail environment. The focus seemed to be on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Overall, the interview was interactive and centered around collaboration and how candidates approach customer service situations.

Question 1
Q: How would you handle a situation where a customer needs assistance, but you are in the middle of closing tasks?
We were also given a practical group task where we had to collaboratively fold T-shirts and organise them efficiently. This exercise seemed to assess teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
