This recruiting agency contacted me with a position close to home. The company is a minority owned business, and www.ucini.com executive profile will reveal a Asian/Indian owned and managed company. The most difficult issue seems to be getting the truth out of any of their people. Paritosh Tyani advised the SVP of business development to contact me based on my diverse skills. I received a follow-up call from him, but upon contacting the company back, I was told he would get back to me, or he was on the phone. A professional recruiter, many of whom I have worked with for 20 years having 25+ years in IT, both as a candidate and as a hiring manager, will normally return a call and advise on the status. But never happened here. On the chance that this was not an exclusive for this organization since the client is a large electrical supply company on Long Island, I contacted a few of my close contacts to determine if they had the consulting role as well. The client is large enough that I doubt Unique Comp had an exclusive. I was correct. Unique was not even professional enough to advise if they submitted my consulting CV. So I had it submitted through a professional recruiter I have hired from for the last 15 years. I received an interview in 2 days, interviewed for the consulting contract, and I start Dec 1. I am writing this review because there are thousands of staffing firms out there, and there is no regulation, nor do you even need a HS Diploma to be a recruiter. There are many top notch companies out there. In my experience, this is not one of them. Stay far away from UCI. Note that you will likely have great difficulty understanding the recruiters for this company as the accents are very heavy with the three people I did speak with.
