      Flight Attendant Interview

      May 13, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in May 2016

      Interview

I first applied on April 30th, got an email later that day that my application was being forwarded to the recruiting department. Sunday I got an email request to do a Video Interview which I completed on Tuesday afternoon. The video only took about 15 minutes, 5 questions. The next morning I got an email with an invite to a Face to Face interview in San Francisco. I called, got right in to a scheduler and set it up for Monday May 9th. I flew into SFO on Sunday, stayed at a local hotel. The office where the interview is, is at the airport, but you don't need to go through security so no need to get there crazy early, like I did. You take a bus to the building from the arrivals area. You then sit in the entry of the floor for awhile and then they take you back to a classroom. Around 25 people showed up. They start with a small presentation, then collect paperwork that they told you to bring. Then there is a power point with info about the company, where the bases are, what the pay is, benefits, frequently asked questions, uniforms, etc. Then they begin pulling people one by one for the one on one interview. I was selected last, so I sat in the room for about 2 hours before getting called back. The one on one was simple. They ask about your past experience and then you roll play a scenario with the person interviewing you. They then tell you about how you'll get an email in 5-7 business days and take you to a window and show you where the bus will pick you up to take you back to the terminal. However, if you are successful, they are just tricking you and will ask you to step into a room and wait for a little bit, which is what happened to me. Then you wait until you are called on again.Which happened to be about 45 minutes later You are then part of a two on one where two current flight attendants/recruiters are interviewing you. They ask a bunch of questions pretty quickly. One man in mine was really condescending and rude. Then they ask you to leave and wait on a couch and then you go back in the room after they are done talking to you. They will either offer you the job and you will go do finger prints or they will tell you that they will email you and you will get shown to the elevator. I got shown to the elevator.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell us about the United Brand and how you would be a good ambassador. Tell about a time you provided excellent customer service. Tell about a time you wish you had handled things differently. Tell about a time you dealt with a difficult task. Why United? What is the hardest part of the job to you? Why do you want to make a career change? Why not work for an airline with a base in your home city? Why don't you continue your education and keep with the line of work you are already in? Why should we hire you?

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening. Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test. Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
