      Flight Attendant Interview

      May 27, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in May 2016

      Interview

So far this has been a FAST and very positive experience! I applied online mid May on a Saturday morning and received an email for the HireVue Interview that Sunday morning. It instructed me to submit my recorded interview within 5 days of receiving the email. This is my first time utilizing Glassdoor and I found it to be EXTREMELY helpful to prepare me for what was coming next. I studied other peoples reviews and they were nearly all spot on on what to expect and how to prepare. I decided to take a couple days to read more on United(facts and such) and on Glassdoor. If you read through the Interview questions everyone posts on here, there are no surprises! I submitted my recorded interview (was 5 questions) on that Wednesday Morning. Like everyone else says, DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS a few times. It definitely helped me work out my nerves and adjust my computer screen for brightness and sounds levels. I made sure there was nothing behind me, only white walls, so there were no distractions and all focus would be on me. Definitely dress the part. I wore a full suit and tie. I spent the last 10 years in a suit so it was comfortable for me. Now, a lot of people on here suggested NOT looking at the camera during the recording, but this up to you and what makes you more comfortable. I tried BOTH ways during the practice questions to see what was better and I chose to make direct eye contact. It made me feel like was talking to another person on the other end of the screen and I felt much more comfortable. Plus, when I watched myself during playback and looked somewhere else, I felt like I wasn't speaking to the "interviewer" and didn't have as much concentration and focus. Just my experience. Smile as often as you can. Show that you're calm and collected and don't worry about "messing up" just pretend you're talking TO someone and keep the conversation going. Giving real life examples of your answers from you past is good. THE BIGGEST SUGGESTION ANYONE GAVE ON GLASSDOOR THAT REALLY HELPED ME WAS: Don't be afraid to laugh or make a little joke during your answers. For example, one of the questions was: ..."think of a time at work you wish you had done something differently..." I kinda giggled for a second and said, "you only want one!?" ;-) It helped me. Just be comfortable and sincere and you'll do fine. So it was submitted around Noon that Wednesday and that Thursday morning at 6am(Pacific) I got the email inviting me to the Group Interviews in San Francisco(based on where you live!). I'm super excited! My Interview is in San Fran the second week of June and I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see what happens!

      Interview

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening. Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test. Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
