I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Aug 2018
Interview
This was my 2nd time applying. The whole process took a month from applying, VI and the F2F.
The video interview was the hardest for me. DO NOT STOP SMILING! Even if you stumble on your words or lose focus.
Make sure if you get a F2F to dress professionally. Fitted suit for men, hair nice, facial hair clean and trimmed, clean shoes. Fitted suit dress or pants for women. Make sure your shoes are nice, nylons, nails are manicured, hair pulled back, natural makeup and red lipstick. Look up classic flight attendant look. United is very conservative.
Just be yourself and be honest. Make sure you introduce yourself and get to know the other applicants, they are going to be just as nervous as you are and will possibly spend the next 6 weeks of training with so it doesn’t hurt to make new friends.
The interviews were situational and problem solving and all customer service based. Use the STAR module during the interview. Read up on United and why United is the right airline for you. BE YOURSELF!!!! Good luck!
On-demand virtual interview, 1:1 virtual interview, F2F interview day w/ group activities. Nothing was tricky, but it took about 1.5 months in total. There is also a language exam for those applying to a speaker position.
