      Flight Attendant Interview

      Dec 13, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Dec 2018

      Interview

I applied online on November 30th (no action takes place on the weekends) the following Monday, December 3rd, I got an email to do the video interview. Tuesday, December 4th, I completed the video interview. Tuesday, December 11th, I received an email that I was invited to the face to face interview in Houston. I had 4 days to call and tell them which of the given days would work best for me to fly up and interview. Since I live more than 4 hours from Houston ( I live in Florida), they booked a plane ticket for the day before my interview and I am scheduled to fly home at 5pm the day of my interview. I wore a black dress, hair down/pinned back, wine colored lipstick, professional ,makeup, wedding ring, stud earrings, and a pearl necklace for my VIDEO INTERVIEW. for the FACE TO FACE interview I will be wearing black dress pants, a black blazer, black heals, and a pink dress-tshirt tucked in. I will be wearing a brown leather belt, a brown leather watch (THEY LOVE WHEN APPLICANTS WEAR A WATCH, IT SHOWS THAT WE ARE AWARE OF TIME), stud earrings, a pearl necklace, my black framed glasses, red nail polish, wine colored lipstick, professional makeup. VIDEO INTERVIEW: they give you multiple attempts to do an "intro". for mine I said "I'm a mother of 2, a wife, a current healthcare worker. in my spare time I like to run marathons, workout, and spend time with my family. I want to work for united because their reputation is excellent, I want to be apart of a company that I am proud to represent, and that I can see myself growing with throughout my career, I believe united is that company." they also ask 5 questions, they give you 30 seconds to think and 3 minutes to answer. you do not get to "redo" your answers for the 5 questions. I saw ALL of the questions that were asked here on Glassdoor. Practice! I had stickty notes on my wall behind my laptop of key words to use during the interview that I may have forgotten ( words to describe the company, myself, and my work ethic). what I was told about F2F interview: DO NOT use your cell phone for any reason. Keep it off and in your luggage/ car. if it rings or makes any sounds it will seriously hurt your chances of getting the job. SMILE constantly! Make friends, it will help loosen you up for speaking in front of the recruiters and all of the applicants! Do not feed into any negative talk ( not wanting to be placed at a certain base, not wanting to be on reserve for to long, not liking the uniform, etc.).
