      Flight Attendant Interview

      Feb 5, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I applied online, and within 2 weeks I was flying to SFO for a face to face interview. It started out as a group setting, getting everyone checked in, introductions, background about the company, went over the days agenda. Then they started calling people one by one to the next room with about 6 tables separated by partitions to conduct the 1-on-1 interview, which lasted around 20-30 minutes. I was asked the expected general questions, built a little rapport, I was told couple times during the interview, "great answer", "nice story", "good", etc. I felt I was doing great, I looked great, smiled, sat straight, answered all questions confidently, etc., but no 2nd interview. She walked me to the elevator and said "thank you for coming, we'll be in touch within a couple weeks, have a nice flight home". I was devastated and so tempted to ask her right there on the spot "did I do or say something wrong?", because I knew if I did great with her, I would've went to the next room for the 2nd interview with the manager. But I held back thinking if I put her on the spot or asked something along those lines she may go back to my file and write adverse notes and for sure get no chance. I just had to think positive that maybe I will hear from them in a couple weeks, but I did not. My couple friends that are FA's at United was equally shocked I didn't get in. Just unexplainable, I really do not know why I got passed up. I guess it really depends on who you interview with. I will wait the year period before applying again. Hopefully it will have a different result the next time.

      Question 1

Why do you want to be a Flight Attendant or what makes you a good candidate? I forget how it was asked. But everyone always says to NEVER say "I love to travel".

      Interview

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening. Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test. Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
