I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Jun 2025
Interview
The United Airlines interview process begins with an online assessment, followed by an optional virtual info session. Next is a one-way video interview, then a live virtual interview. Successful candidates attend a face-to-face group interview in Houston, followed by a one-on-one recruiter session. Job offers are contingent on drug tests, fingerprints, and background checks. Training lasts six and a half weeks in Houston with provided housing (roommates) and per diem but no full pay. The process is rigorous and lifestyle-changing, especially for those without aviation experience. Overall, a strong opportunity with growth potential, though contract improvements are needed immediately.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the questions I was asked was about flexibility: aviation changes constantly, and the recruiter asked me to give an example of a time when I had to be flexible or adjust my plans due to work commitments. Most of the interview was STAR-style behavioral questions, many centered on customer service, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Question 1
Steps you will take to ensure you are successful at training
It started with the Assessment, followed by 8 video questions, and then the video interview. The in person final interview I am waiting for. They said I would know in 2-5 business days.
Its a multi-step interview process. First a resume submission and a questionnaire, then a pre-recorded interview with a few questions. I was asked this during the pre-recorded interview. Waiting for my live virtual interview!
