Applied online with a standard resume and cover letter, responding to a posting found on idealist.org. First interview was a phone interview, in which I was questioned on my basic skills, experience and interests. I was asked what I knew about the organization and was detailed on the specific program. Two weeks later I went to UWNYC for an interview with the program manager and another associate. Here I was asked about more situational experience- my experience with data entry, feelings about working with nonprofits and professionals, background with social media tools and IT changes/databases, etc. Not too intimidating, both interviewers were nice and conversational. Dress was business casual, though I was in business professional and would always suggest overdressing than under. Immediately sent a hand written thank you letter following the interview which was worked greatly in my favor, I would suggest it to any fellow interviewees.
