I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at United Way (Alexandria, VA) in Jun 2014
Interview
It was a great interview process, though the hiring process took months. The interview process began with a phone interview, then was followed by an in-person interview with a few staff members. Almost all the questions were behavioral (tell us about a time when... give us an example of a time when...) and came from an HR-approved sheet of questions.
Background info, STAR based questions. For example Tell about a time when you had to manage multiple projects and conflicting timeliness. Several rounds of formal interviews and the informal chat with a fee team members

Tell me about a time when you had to manage multiple projects.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Way (New York, NY)
Interview
Had 3 interviews and then didn't hear back, despite following up twice. It was a pleasant process until then, but I was really surprised by the radio silence even after I tried several times to just get a quick email response of yes or no.
This review is specifically for United Way NYC. Would not recommend. I received absolutely no follow-up regarding my status after multiple interviews. It would have been helpful to receive some type of update after reaching out several times. Lack of follow-up is not a good sign, in my opinion.
