I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Washington, DC) in Nov 2016
Interview
I met with a recruiter on my college campus and then filled out a form online. They made me complete an online "virtual interview" that composed of me talking to a video camera. Then they called me and flew me out to DC. I had several interviews (maybe 4 as well as lunch) that started at 8 and ended around 3. Included in that time was a timed writing sample (about an hour to review some data). I got a response (rejection) after 2 months.

UHG will have you pay for onsite interviews claiming they reimburse you. I have interviewed twice and have not been reimbursed either times for interviews despite thousands of dollars paid and several follow up emails to check in on my reimbursement.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group
Interview
Two phone interviews with recruiters. Told that I would receive a call back from the hiring manager within the next two days. Was one of two final candidates. I have yet to receive that phone call and it has been over two weeks. When I called to ask about status of my application, they said I was still being considered. Overall, poor communication on the recruiters end. I don't know how much of that can be applied to management of UnitedHealth, but I am not impressed with the lack of communication thus far.
