I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Unum in Sep 2015
Interview
I applied online via the company's career page. After two days, I received a pre-screening questionnaire, then a 48 hour technical assessment that challenged the applicant's HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills. The tasks was to replicate a Web page screenshot as accurately as possible. This included fonts, sizes, color shading and shadowing, and a slider. After completing the assessment with 99% correctness, I was asked to have a 30 minute phone interview with HR. The interview was painful at best because of the interrogation-style question-response process. It's almost as though HR only wants to hire dull applicants. After the interview, the recruiter seemingly vanished for 2 months without any word on the development of opportunities or expectations. The recruiter wouldn't even answer emails regarding the position's status. This has occurred with two internships and one full-time position. That being said, I'm finished with this company altogether.
