I applied for the role and was contacted within 24 hours by internal recruiter to schedule a phone screen. Had phone call with recruiter which I thought went well and was moved on to second interview with hiring manager. I felt that call went well and was then scheduled for a third and final interview with “another member of the leadership team.” Perhaps I am crazy, but when folks are laughing and smiling during the zoom interview one tends to think things are going well. I was told that it would take a few days but they would be in touch with the hiring decision. Four business days later I sent a polite follow-up asking if there was any other information I could provide while the hiring decision was being made. Recruiter responded same day, thanked me for following up and said leadership was still comparing notes on which candidate they wanted to move forward with but she would be in touch soon. It’s now been over three weeks since the last interview and two weeks since the recruiter said she would be in touch soon. I was excited about the opportunity, but if this is the way they are willing to treat people who spent time with three interviews, then perhaps I dodged a bullet. If they found a better fit for the role then perfect, no worries at all. But their recruiting process literally contains zero empathy if they are willing to ghost people in this situation. I hope everyone is ok and there was just some internal emergency and I was a victim of bad timing. Wish them well, but super disappointed in how organizations can treat someone after three interviews and committing to follow up. Tread carefully!
