Overall the process was efficient and pleasant .
Questions asked were mostly probability, statistics , machine learning . also, enough focus on coding skills .
there were 2 screening rounds . both rounds were similar in nature , checking knowledge in probability and statistics.
the final virtual onsite has 2 technical , 1 hr round.
technical rounds were similar to screening rounds except bit deeper .

Questions were heavily concentrated around probability and statistics. Some questions required to code up simulations to solve a probability questions

Very arrogant company with recruiter that takes in their arrogant culture quite well. Said cannot offer senior level prior to interview regardless of my yoe because I wasn't from a 'tech' company ;)

Interview
I first applied for machine learning engineer role and went through 2 rounds of technical phone screening and 1 on-site interview with 4 employees. Then they thought I was more fit for a research scientist role and referred me to that position. I had two more interviews for the research scientist role. Upstart did care a lot about the candidates career path and how their strength and interests align with the company.

Question 1
They asked coding questions, design questions, machine learning domain questions, statistical questions and behavioral questions. I'd say the questions were very practical and they helped the candidate to understand and think in the real way during the the business
