I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Upstart
Interview
I did not apply for this position, rather, their recruiter reached out to me based on a previous application.
The hiring manager (an executive in the company), who had a similar experience to mine, told me after the formal part of the interview that I did not have enough (?!) experience and he was willing to consider me for an entry level position. Then he went on a rant about the great experience he had, and it looked like a total coverup because even of video I saw his face change when he opened my resume (why would he read candidates resumes, right?).
HR reached out to me to schedule the next interview a week after I had rescinded my candidacy. Because why would a hiring manager read emails from candidates, right? HR had to apologize. They must love their jobs.
The company ended up hiring someone with a quarter of my education and less than quarter of my experience. But since he's a white male, and I am not, so who am I to complain?
This company seems rotten to the core.
