I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Urban Outfitters in Oct 2011
Interview
I walked in, asked for an application and then came back 15minutes afterwards to hand it in. The manager immediately gave me a slip to take a quiz online and told me to come into the group interview that was going in a couple days. It was surprisingly very easy.
I came in along with about 10 others. The manager was really sweet. Didn't have any attitude and was very talkative with us. He went around in a circle and had us say why we wanted to work there and about our past experience. Then went and asked each of us a different question(fashion inspirations, $100 to spend at UO what would you buy, latest music youve downloaded, stores besides UO you shop at). Most of the people there seemed to be trying too hard or not trying enough. Just be yourself, don't try to kiss so much ass. Maybe also try to fit in with the style that UO caters to. It helps if you look like you already work there.
DONT come in dressed as you would for an interview at say Macy's or something. You know typical interview outfits. Wear cute, trendy and casual clothes.
I got a call the very next day telling me I had passed the interview and got the job. They even offered me a little more high wage than my old job.

Quick interview around 20 mins, asked pretty standard customer service questions. Manager who interviewed was nice. Asked about hobbies outside of work, if I was in school, how many hours a week I was looking for

I applied online. I interviewed at Urban Outfitters (Pasadena, CA)
Interview
The interview is done in a group of about 5-10 people. A manager asks a couple of behavioral questions, and everyone goes around answering. The vibes are pretty chill, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't prepare! It just means you don't have to be nervous.
