I applied online and then got an email about a job fair. They are opening a new store in Emeryville, so they needed to hire an entire staff for the store. The interview at the job fair consisted of a group (there were 5 other people in mine) and the interviewer (who was a floor manager at an SF store). He asked us easy questions, mostly just wanted to get to know us. He seemed to be hoping for a conversation rather than a one sided interview. It was very laid back, not stressful at all. A day or two later I got an email asking me to take an "Online Survey", but really they just want to gauge your beliefs regarding drugs, stealing, work place behavior, etc. If you want a job, don't necessarily be honest, give them the answers they want (they are a capitalist corporation looking to hire people who will make them money). A few days after that I got a call and received a job offer. They offered me $9/hr (I'd asked for $10, but this is still $1 over minimum wage in CA) and I accepted. I have some retail experience, where I got minimum wage, so they may have been reacting to that.
