The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Urban Outfitters (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
The interview was simple, you fill out an application and then someone you are placed randomly into groups where you discuss your style and customer service experience you have had. the interview seems to be with either other sales associates, assistant managers or in my case the hiring manager and a sales associate from the queens store.
The interview is basically a round discussion while they take notes on your answers to their questions about things like "what's your favorite trend", "what inspires your style" and "Who is one person dead or alive you'd like to have dinner with" or "Who is one person dead or alive that you would like to be for a day"
They interviewers told us they were looking for people with an keen sense of style and knowledgeable on fashion while understanding good customer service.
They have you fill out a personality test afterwards then said "If we don't call in the next week the position has been filled" Interesting thing to say considering they were hiring for multiple stores.
Didn't get a call back.

I applied online. I interviewed at Urban Outfitters (Pasadena, CA)
Interview
The interview is done in a group of about 5-10 people. A manager asks a couple of behavioral questions, and everyone goes around answering. The vibes are pretty chill, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't prepare! It just means you don't have to be nervous.
